Glen General (ABN 20 606 273 910) is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the 13 Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What we collect

We collect the following personal information when you interact with our website:

  • Order information: your name, email, postal address, phone number and order details.
  • Payment information: card details are collected and processed by our payment processor, Stripe Payments Australia Pty Ltd. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Account & contact information: if you email us or sign up for our newsletter, we hold your email address and the contents of your messages.
  • Website analytics: de-identified data such as pages visited, device type and approximate location, collected via cookies.

Why we collect it (APP 3 & 6)

We collect and use your personal information only for the purposes for which it was provided, including to:

  • process and ship your orders;
  • provide customer support;
  • send you order updates and, where you've opted in, marketing emails;
  • improve our website and product range; and
  • meet our legal and tax obligations (such as ATO record-keeping).

Who we share it with (APP 6 & 8)

We share personal information only with trusted service providers who help us run the business:

  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Australia Post and StarTrack — order delivery.
  • Email and hosting providers — to send transactional and marketing emails and host this website.

Some of these providers may store data outside Australia (for example, in the United States or European Union). We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information in line with the APPs.

Direct marketing (APP 7)

We only send marketing emails if you've opted in. Every marketing email contains an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time by emailing hello@glengeneral.com.

Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies (to remember your cart) and analytics cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site (such as the cart) may not work correctly.

Storage and security (APP 11)

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access. Order and account information is stored on secure servers behind authentication controls. We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes above, or as required by Australian law.

Accessing & correcting your information (APP 12 & 13)

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, at any time. Email hello@glengeneral.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please email hello@glengeneral.com in the first instance. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
